World premières of cutting-edge documentaries, classic films noirs and '60s horror flicks are only a taste of the impressive range of films staged at the Roxie. Next door's Little Roxie has a great projection set-up, a terrific sound system and a programme of stuff too weird even for its wacky parent to show. Both theatres are a bit down at heel, but the gritty atmosphere just adds to the funkiness. Tickets cost $6 for the first show on Wednesday, Saturday or Sunday; discount cards for $30 grant admission to six screenings.
