Argonaut Hotel review Rate it
Built into a historic fruit-packing warehouse, this beautiful luxury hotel is the best in the area by far. Located directly opposite Hyde Street Pier, the property celebrates the city's seafaring past, evidenced in the blue and yellow maritime decor and the abundant nautical props. The carefully furnished regular rooms have all the mod cons you might need (flat-screen TVs, Aveda bath products), but it's in the suites that the hotel excels itself: hot tub with a view of the ocean, tripod telescope in the lounge by the dining table. Breakfast is served in the Blue Mermaid on the ground floor. If you want a sea view, ask for a north-facing room on the third floor or above. There's a small nautical museum off the lobby.
