The former San Francisco Performing Arts Library & Museum was closed for renovation at the time of writing, due to reopen in March 2008 as the Museum of Performance and Design. Exhibitions at this enjoyable museum relate to every one of the performing arts, from puppet shows to operas, but the principal attraction for scholars is the prodigious amount of resource material: thousands of books on design, fashion, music, theatre, opera and other art forms.
