The camera that was used to create the first animation for television (called Crusader Rabbit and produced from 1949 to 1951) graces the lobby of this museum. Boasting over 5,000 pieces of cartoon and animation art, as well as a research library, this is the only museum in the western US dedicated to the form. The bookstore contains a large and eclectic selection of books, 'zines, periodicals and coffee-table tomes covering everything from erotic photography to Asterix books. The first Tuesday of each month is 'Pay What You Wish Day'.
