Don't miss this Polk Gulch institution: half fish market, half counter-service hole in the wall, it has been delighting locals since 1912. The best time to visit is between November and June, when the local Dungeness crab is in season. But at any time of year, the selections are straight-from-the-water fresh. Specialities include clam chowder and an obscenely large variety of oysters, best downed with a pint of locally brewed Anchor Steam beer. You can buy shellfish to take away.
