The Haight has no shortage of excellent drinking holes, but few possess the panache of this whisky-fuelled destination in the heart of the neighbourhood. The food menu is spare but pretty good, consisting of hits like the housemade saké gravlax, spätzle and spiced lamb burger. Everything is designed as accompaniment to the main attraction: booze. A head-spinning array of boutique beers, Scottish single malts, American whiskies and even rare ryes ensures the trendy clientele is always kept happily buzzing along.
