Lies to tell tourists
*If you stub out a cigarette on a public bin that doesn’t have a built-in ashtray, you will be forced to do community service in a giant cigarette costume for the Government anti-smoking campaign. This will include handing out flyers, haranguing other smokers and singing an antismoking theme song.
*In Singapore, it is both socially unacceptable and illegal to eat while walking. Not only will you attract the attention of the fat police, but you may also be fined for littering should you leave scraps on the pavement.
Saving seats with tissue packets at hawker centres is now illegal. Special undercover offi cers have been assigned to hang around at popular eating spots, and are authorised to slap you with a $500 fi ne if you’re caught ‘choping’.
