The Martini InnerCity Festival is back for a second round (the first was held in 2006), this time with more than 130 combinations to choose from. Whether you like to drink it straight up, stirred or just plain fruity, imagine the great Truman Capote or F Scott Fitzgerald standing next to you and Frank Sinatra singing ‘Strangers in the Night’ in the background as you sip from your gin- or vodkabased cocktail. Aside from the drinking there will be a slew of fringe activities, from martini workshops and master classes to ‘flaring’ competitions (preparing cocktails à la Tom Cruise in Risky Business). If you decide to buy a Martini Inner City (MIC) passcard for $99, you’ll be entitled to 20 drink redemptions at any of the participating outlets. Go to the website for full festival details.
