Barfly - THIS VENUE HAS CLOSED
With expensive looking vintage chandeliers, ornate oversized gold mirrors, and neon-lit ice buckets (rumoured to cost $1,200 each), Barfly is clearly out to impress – Tiger beer with ice is a strict no-no. Instead, think 1-for-1 martinis and housepours (daily 6.30-10pm), ostensibly aimed at middle-class working professionals with lots of money to throw around. Its lively and convivial atmosphere make this a good party joint to stop by as a warm-up before heading out to the big clubs, especially since it serves decent sit-down dinners. A variety of music ranging from house and jazz to soul and funk provides for live aural pleasure; Del Barrio entertains every night from 7-9.30pm, with DJ Kenneth Francis and Jason T taking over later in the night spinning sexy house tunes. Thursdays are Top 40s courtesy of Tabula and Saturdays have the Way Kool band featuring the Jackson Twinz doing their groove thang.
Barfly featured in our recent Bar hop - 'Where can I go for a good choice of non-alcoholic drinks? feature.
