A cute golden retriever puppy wanders into the life of a 14-year-old schoolgirl, Akari (Tanaka), living in Hokkaido, Japan. Her mum agrees to keep ‘Socks’, but only if Akari promises to give the dog ten wishes and fulfils them. The pair (dog and girl) form a bond as they face life’s challenges together, such as getting used to peeing in one spot and dealing with heartbreak.
