Following up his kitschy hit musical 881 about Hungry Ghost Festival’s getai concerts, local director Royston Tan’s back with 12 Lotus, starring Qi Yu Wu, Mindee Ong and Liu Ling Ling. The plot follows a female singer who has a seriously long run of abusive manfriends from the 1980s till the present day. Let’s hope 12 Lotus will bring Tan the same success that 881 did.

From the Coen brothers – makers of The Big Lebowski and No Country for Old Men – comes this much-talkedabout comedy starring Brad Pitt as a bleach-tipped himbo who fi nds a CD copy of the infl ammatory memoir of former CIA agent Ozzie Cox (John Malkovich) in a gym locker. Blackmail and hilarious chaos ensue. Other characters include Ozzie’s estranged wife, Katie (Tilda Swinton), and sex-crazed Harry ‘we could do it in the back’ Pfarrer (George Clooney).
