The ubiquitous Danger Mouse is back at it again, this time on production duty for Martina Topley- Bird’s sophomore effort The Blue God. Don’t worry, we know half of you are wondering: who the f*** is Martina Topley-Bird? Well, you might recognise her sultry tones from most of the Tricky catalogue, as well as on tracks by Diplo and Gorillaz. However, this talented lady struck out on her own in 2003 with her debut Quixotic, with appearances by Josh Homme (Queens of the Stone Age) and ex-boyfriend Tricky. Like a fine wine, her skills have matured with The Blue God – an exquisitely tuned album that proves she’s got what it takes to stand alone.
