This concert, aimed at introducing children to the orchestra, features a bugle-playing mime artist who has aspirations to perform opera and a tap-dancing ballerina, among other zany characters. Britten’s ‘A Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra’, Bernstein’s ‘Candide’ Overture and Shostakovich’s Polka from ‘The Age of Gold’ as well as the Toreador Song from ‘Carmen’ are among the many popular selections.
