Distinguished wind player Zhang Wei-Liang shows off his mastery of the dizi, xiao and xun with selections of music from Jiang Nan, China, such as ‘Reflections of the Moon over Erquan Spring’ and ‘Reverberations of Ancient Sounds’. Modern compositions such as Wang Jian Min’s ‘Erhu Rhapsody No 1’ and a transcription of Sarasate’s ‘Carmen Fantasy’ make for an interesting contrast, played by Yan Jie Min on the erhu.
