Marmalade Pantry
The carpet is in need of replacing and the quality of the food can be uneven, but this circular basement venue is a great place for people-watching. The lunch crowd brings bling-bling chicks and their beaus, and the Sunday brunch is very popular. Check out the perennial favourites: a huge steak burger and irresistible cupcakes.

As a frequent visitor to the Marmalade Pantry for the last 3 years, I have never seen the menu change, instead only the prices rise. It was always a place you could be guaranteed good service (for Singapore) but the last few visits has seen them forgetting meals and generally having no idea on how to serve people. The Pantry shouldn't be resting on their laurels, with all the new places opening up it might be time for a refresh or re-stock of the pantry!
