Singapore restaurant reviews and food articles
supperclub
"Dining in supperclub can only be described as a smorgasbord of explosive pleasures that is guaranteed to assault your senses. As you relax on your bed, dinner is served - but not as you know it. There is no menu, so choice is thrown out the window. Utensils may comprise of nothing more than a plastic glove, so decorum is also thrown out of the window. Be dazzled by an array of gastronomic masterpieces creatively assembled by the best culinary artists in the region, who hold the fort at the open concept kitchen where you can peek voyeuristically into their creation of pure art."
So that's actually the official press release because we haven't been able to review supperclub yet. We promise to come back with a full review and let you know how the plastic gloves work out.

My friends and I were so excited to check out Supperclub but it turned out to be utter disappointment! We didn't make reservations for the white couches. So when we asked if we could sit there, no one told us we had to order a bottle just to be able to secure the couch space! So we sat ourselves there and within minutes, a waiter came over and asked sceptically if we made reservations. When we said no and that one of the floor managers had told us we could sit there, he replied curtly that we had to order a bottle. He then marched off, and another waiter turned up to ask the same bloody question! Then seconds later, the first waiter came back to us with another floor manager, who then looked at us, and promptly said in an icy and "IN-YOUR-FACE" manner, "You need to order a bottle to sit here.” then walked off without a word! And during this whole time, not one of them even smiled!! Whatever happened to service with a smile?? I can understand if it’s Supperclub’s policy that you need to order a bottle to be able to sit on the couches. You are doing a business after all and you’re entitled to implement your rules/policies. But for goodness sake, at least inform your guests politely!! Needless to say, we left the place promptly. NO ONE wants to pay for bad service so I suggest you start training your wait staff AND your (upstairs) floor manager.
Heard of the saying, 'overrated, overpriced and over here'? Well, suffice to say it applies to the Supper Club. Went for drinks at the bar first, and were rudely told to be seated. We said we'd ordered drinks, and 'waitress' didn't know what to do. Instead of then having drinks sent to our table, she told us to wait. They seem to have picked random & weird people off the street to become waiting staff. Menu is a surprise, but when starter arrived and i said i didn't eat raw fish, was told 'sorry, all the vegetarians have been served', and then went on to argue with me about what i'd said. Why not give us an option? It is a restaurant after all! 'Entertainment' was a lady in a pink wig and odd white ensemble making oversized bubbles! They charge for water. I could go on, but this gives an idea of what to expect and just don't expect a lot, except for a large bill at the end!
No service, rude bartenders, overpriced alcohol, limited drinks menu, lack of ventilation ... Need I say more? Completely overrated. Let's hope it's just an initial hiccup.
Lets hope staff training has not been thrown out of the window and this is as good as it sounds!
