ADDRESS

Actually, the food there is generally great, especially in the restaurant. The bar area...so so, I had better when I as back in Australia. Obviously, if you are not adventurous, it would be best not to try their unique stuff... I think the chef tries too hard...frankly, I cannot taste the difference between a freshly slaughtered beef and one that is aged 300 days. Service is good as compared to most places in Singapore. You should encourage such emphasis on service in places like these as the service in other parts of Singapore are attrocious. Some of the people at 1 TwentySix are really friendly... in particular these couple of guys called Edwin and Sammy. Great personality and attitude. Music is ok, but, I however can understand why there are so many critics though...they have been extremely successful in the East Coast area...which in the past was only known for their food and nothing else...so good stuff... great work...now, hopefully more will follow.
I am not sure what is going on here - but the staff seem to be hired out of high school and incapable of independent thought. Been there twice (location is great) - both times I asked if I can have a la carte as I'm vegetarian and theirs set menus are not. Both times told immediately "No" by staff who seem to not want business. Put a sign up "Customer and Vegetarian Unfriendly". Or hire some people who can use their brain, say - let me check - and figure out a way to provide the veg options that are on the menu as a la carte options. BTW - besides that, service is generally poor and certainly not worth the prices they charge.
Went there to eat with friends and very sad with food & given service! This is not a special place to go for and not worth the money spend. Think twice again....
to all readers & all the people out there. please drop by to this beautiful restaurant. to chill, to relax, to enjoy the breeze, to dine.. this is the best place. i had brunch they have a good spread, like mini hotel standard. non in th eeast have that. followed by their ala carte dining are super dooper great. everything is in pair & portion are very generous. worth of $$$$. trust me. it may look expensive but its worth. as for the gastro bites, its unique, cuz i expect it to be like a typical tapas dish but instead, its all comes in platter. we can try every single food in 4s.. onli the cocktail needs improvement as i had a shangria, the garnish was half dead. but 1twentysix is the best spot!
well 200days doesn't mean it;d been marinated .But it's refer to the cattle was fed with grains for 200 days b4 they were sent to slaugther house .Therefore the meant & fats are of better quality
I looked through the menu when we had dinner there last Tuesday and saw that they have 200 days tenderloin. I have only tried 120 days tenderloin so far. I wonder how something that had been marinated so long taste like? My bf can't wait to try it...but we have to save up for it first, that is how expensive the place can be.
The greatest thing is that as it's on the beach, ride your bike there and leave the car at home! Cheers
Second helpings - overall its still a great place but what is up with the wine? Both visits so far have revealed shortages of stocks and having to switch to a different wine after drinking one or two bottles. Duo of lamb tasted great but one type of lamb was cold and had to be sent back. Plates being stone cold probably caused this. Some fine tuning still needed.
Eating is inside, lounging and drinking outside in the well designed garden. Though it isnt really a place to see and be seen - more a place for intimate drinks as you cannot really see the other tables through the trees. On a Friday, a good DJ was playing outside. Service was friendly and brisk, tuna starter was generous and tasty. Chilean codfish with black pepper sauce the highlight. And nothing like this on the East Coast. The rest of big splash is a bit strange - one building has been built with for Carl's Junior using a huge rainbow as decor - is it supposed to be the world's first gay burger joint?
The Desserts there are to die for! Expensive, but well worth the money. Brilliant work from the team of One Rochester to bring this concept to the East. Great Ambience, great food, great service... now, please, just improve the parking.
I had dinner there and it was super yummy! The codfish was very fresh and tasted real good. My girlfriend went crazy over the dessert as well. And the garden is perfect to chill out over drinks. Will definitely make this place a hang out spot with friends in the east!
