Biting back - April 2008

Issue 14

Hits
We love the bottle of mouthwash and tiny plastic cups in the washrooms at Hua Ting. Very useful (and thoughtful) after a Chinese meal.

Mr Bean’s (#B1-02 Lavender MRT station, 50 Kallang Rd) creamy and rich coconutty kaya pancakes make perfect afternoon snacks.

Hats off to Marmalade Pantry for its mango crumble.

Misses
Sentosa’s ridiculous $2 entry fee per person when you go for a meal at one of its restaurants. The fee is waived if you have a letter from the restaurant confirming your reservation. Worse, it’s inconsistently enforced: sometimes, the guards just wave you through. Please make up your mind.

The thick layer of dust covering the entire timber wall fixture next to the sofas at TCC (#01-29 Great World City, 1 Kim Seng Promenade, 6737 3317). We’re still sneezing.
