Guide to shopping, young designers and special offers in Singapore
Selling their sole
Put your best foot forward, says JILL SARA, by stepping into these three shoe boutiques
Her Glass Slipper

Who shops here: High-level executives attracted to unconventional designs and fashion-centric females who want to look the part without forking over more than $200.
Some target labels: HGS, HGS Luxury Collection, Strutt Couture, Love & Desire by Beverly Feldman, Marioluca Giusti – also Marc Jacobs, DKNY, Bruno Magli and Michael Kors.
Overall vibe: Compact. One glance will let you take in all the foot candy on display. The cosy space has been done up as a boudoir, complete with opulent chaises longues, so you can stretch out and admire the pair you’re trying on. Be warned, though: the shop is hidden behind the front-row stores, so treasure hunters have to negotiate a few turns before reaching their ‘gold’.
What’s the damage? From an affordable $100 to plastic-fantastic $900.
#02-26 Chevron House, 30 Raffles Pl (6438 0211, www.herglassslipper.com). Raffles Place MRT. Mon-Fri 11am- 8pm, Sat 11am-3pm.
Sole 2 Sole

Who shops here: Both well-heeled sexes who covet limited-edition collections and popular European lines, and globetrotting executives working within the vicinity who value choice footwear.
Some target labels: Lulu Guinness, Lulu Guinness Couture Collection & Collectables, Bourne, Nicholas Tate, United Nude and Abaco
Overall vibe: Clean lines and chic racks with a number of check-me-out mirror points and plush seats to dump oversized handbags on. Pretty accessories are shown off in glass boxes and the wood panelling is modern and groovy at the same time, wrapping around the 1,000 sq ft of space.
What’s the damage? $159 should nab you a decent pair of Font sandals. As for the rest, the sky’s the limit.
#01-47A/48 Millenia Walk (6337 1852, www.sole2sole.com.sg). City Hall. Daily 10am-9.30pm.
Red Carpet

Who shops here: Nine-to-fivers who have to adhere to corporate attire yet want to add a little girly fun to their otherwise monotonous everyday ensemble.
Some target labels: Red Carpet labels only.
Overall vibe: A large but comfortable space with a mini-bar and cushy seating, plus a red carpet strip to boost the glitz factor. Enquire about organising a champagne brunch/shoe-shopping party with your best gal pals.
What’s the damage? Hardly any. Prices range from $50 to $120, tops.
58 Club St (6316 3984, www.red-carpet.sg). Chinatown. Mon-Fri 11am-9pm, Sun noon-6pm.
