Writer and director J.C. Chandor returns after the success of his critically acclaimed All is Lost (2013) with yet another gripping film. A Most Violent Year is set in 1981 New York City, at one of the most treacherous moments of the municipality's history. The story follows an immigrant family's attempts at doing business amid the corruption, deceit and desperation.
