New collab: Somewhere Else x GU

Style meets comfort in the graphic tee collab between local design studio Somewhere Else and Japanese retailer GU, a sister company of Uniqlo. The capsule collection offers up four designs – each available in three colours – that blend typography and photography, including snapshots from the adventures of Somewhere Else’s founder.

Further features a stretched typeface to represent pushing boundaries and spurning the status quo; Dharma Bums references Jack Kerouac’s novel about the balance between energy and chaos; and Tomorrows consists of abstract shapes and ambiguous letterings to hint at the anticipation of the future. Confused by the deep meanings? Don’t be. After all, these are just really cool (and affordable) tees to add to your collection.

Available at www.gu-japan.com. $8 each.
