StraitsKitchen

StraitsKitchen

A Halal buffet with Chinese, Malay and Indian fare

Under the expert guidance of chef Albert Tan, the Halal-certified StraitsKitchen whips up a uniquely Singaporean line-up of Chinese, Malay and Indian fare. Kick off the last evening of the year at the seafood bar, which features poached tiger prawns, Boston lobsters, Alaskan crab legs and freshly shucked oysters. If it’s heartier dishes you’re after, the lobster masala, skindari raan (lamb leg with spices) and Malay-style oxtail soup should do the trick. And you can’t go wrong with the classic Peking duck rolls, either.

7.30pm. $138/adult (top up $50 for free flow alcoholic beverages), $98/children aged four to 12. Entry to the Belle Époque countdown party is included.

Pete’s Place

Pete’s Place

Hearty servings of Italian classics

As 2017 rolls in, cosy with friends and family at Pete’s Place, a rustic Italian trattoria helmed by chef Catalda Chiloiro. The feast begins with antipasti, such as spicy devilled eggs, beef carpaccio and salami, but you’ll want to save room for the mains. Carving stations all around the restaurant dish out porchetta with rosemary and garlic, roasted Australian grain-fed rib-eye, and salt-crusted barramundi, while handmade pastas, risottos and wood-fired pizzas make for great sharing platters, too.

7.30pm. $188/adult, $98/children aged four to 17. Entry to the Belle Époque countdown party is included.

10 SCOTTS

10 SCOTTS

For seafood lovers

If you know someone with a soft spot for seafood, 10 SCOTTS is where it’s at. Here, you can slurp down freshly shucked oysters or sustainably sourced sashimi – you don’t have to be an eco-warrior to enjoy pacific yellowfin tuna, Atlantic salmon and yellowtail kingfish. Continue the oceanic theme with mains such as baked salmon coulibiac (salmon baked in a pastry shell) or opt for other meat dishes such as Australian roast beef or even roasted Peking duck with pancakes.

7.30pm. $188/adult, $98/children aged four to 17. Entry to the Belle Époque countdown party is included.

Oasis Restaurant

Oasis Restaurant

A laid-back poolside barbecue

There’s no better way to reward yourself for working hard all year than by kicking back and putting your feet up by the pool. Oasis Restaurant lets you do just that with its poolside setting, making it the perfect place for an al fresco countdown at a barbecue. So help yourself to meats off the grill, including spicy gai yang chicken, beef sirloin and lamb cutlets, or get that smiling server to carve you a slice of turkey with chestnut stuffing. Get into the festive spirit by indulging in sweet treats, too – try the Jack Daniel’s-soaked plum pudding – before your New Year diet resolutions kick in.
