Caffe Libar - © Matt Field/Time Out
This is a great find just off the Riva, by Sv Frane church, its first-floor terrace overlooking the city's street life. There are also free Wifi, internet, real chips (12kn), tapas and snacks such as buffalo wings (35kn) and whitebait (30kn), plus live TV sports on on two big screens on the terrace. The name is a reference to the Libar ('Book') published by Split-born writer Marko Marulić in 1521 - the first ever book printed in the Croatian language; copies of the title pages are proudly framed on the café walls .
