Of Split's cultural events, the big two are the Split Summer Festival, much of which takes place around the Roman palace, and the left-field Split Film Festival in September.
The main cultural highlight of the year is the Split Summer Festival, which runs over a month between July and August. Look out also for the more radical Split Film Festival in September.
