Luxor's café in the heart of the palace is already one of the most popular meeting
places in town. The restaurant on the first floor has been re-energised by the owners
of Marmont Hotel and could prove to be one of Split's most exclusive eateries. Crisp white tablecloths, stately burgundy chairs, stone walls and a colourful mural
on the ceiling make for a stylish setting in which to choose the sauce for your fillet
steak (balsamic, plum, honey, blue-cheese or truffles) or deliberate on whether you've enough room for the signature dessert (Perestil: figs cooked in dessert wine with cinnamon and mascarpone cream topped with roasted pine nuts). There are plenty of other enticing and unusual dishes or splurge on the pastries from the café.
