Hammarby ArtPort is another recently opened project space south of SoFo. HAP opened its doors in February 2007 as an extension to the small artist-run Candyland gallery.
Not being a regular exhibition space, HAP concentrates on different interactive projects and artistic production. It's housed in big premises in a newly constructed area in Stockholm called Hammarby Sjöstad, a former run-down harbour and industrial estate next to Södermalm. Surrounded by water, it has now become an idyllic district just ten minutes from the city by boat or tram. HAP runs approximately four international exhibitions a year, and also interacts with local companies, exploring different ways of presenting and working with art, including consultant services and public commissions in the area.
