Time Out says

A delightfully cheesy experience.

The good people of Gstaad want you to enjoy a tasty cheese fondue anytime, anywhere in their pretty alpine region. As such, there's several public spaces where you can tuck into a BYO fondue, as well as a "fondue backpack" service that's available to order the day prior. Choose from two types of fondue cheese - traditional or truffle - available from four local dairys and possibly your hotel reception (check with your concierge), then venture out... There's two rather cheesy fondue-pot shaped wooden tables - one on Schlittmoos, 15 minutes from the village of Schönried, the other at Vorderi Wispile on the hiking trail Wispile-Chrine-lake of Lauenen and Wispile-Chrine-Gsteig. Both fondue caquelons seat 8 people. Or head for one of the two Fondue Hüttli Rellerli (fondue huts), near the Berghaus Rellerli. Of course, you could just take your own picnic along to these spots, but where's the fun in that?
