Birch Libralato Gallery review

Installed in a garage space just south of Queen Street West, Robert Birch has brought together an excellent band of mostly local artists - Lee Goreas, Eric Glavin and Euan Macdonald - who share a postmodern sensibility. Also look out for work by Wanda Koop, a Winnipeg painter whom Time magazine called one of the best in Canada, Gina Rorai, who specialises in large, abstract canvases, and Will Gorlitz, whose sensual nature paintings examine the relationship between art and photography. The playful conceptual sculptures by Micah Lexier, a New York-based Winnipeg artist, are another highlight.
