While its current clientele was still crawling, this venue - as the celebrated RPM - held marathon parties for mods, goths and punks. It eventually morphed into this equally enduring clubbing complex that attracts Toronto's top house DJs, alongside international turntable royalty. Bouncers won't turn away the shabbily dressed, but they will make you wait: it's a rare night that the queue is not wrapped around the block. On Saturday nights, 3,000 clubbers cram the venue, dancing to the house beats of DJ Mark Oliver on the main floor, getting psychedelic in the Orange Room or gazing at the skyline in the Skybar. The hangar-like space is also home to concert venue Kool Haus, which attracts international DJs and eclectic acts (Kruder and Dorfmeister, Tenacious D), as well as bands that play good old-fashioned instruments. There is lounge space galore, plus two rooftop patios.
