Every Monday night the back room at the Rivoli is transformed into a cabaret, where Toronto's alternative comedians come out to play. On some nights it seems 'alternative' is a euphemism for 'poorly rehearsed', but admission is on a 'pay what you can' basis, which means it's normally good value for money. If you're lucky, you'll catch a visiting celebrity blowing off some steam. Scott Thompson, Janeane Garofalo, Will Ferrell and Tom Green have all made appearances here. The first and third Tuesday of each month are now devoted to sketch comedy.
