The Hilton is a rarity in this town: a modern hotel (1975) with character. The lobby, with its raised wooden floor and hanging curtain, looks as though it was created by stage designers (in fact, it was). Exit stage left for the Canadian-themed Tundra restaurant, and exit stage right for chunky glass elevators. The latter carry you to hallways designed to mimic the flow and activity of a river (note the abstract fish, stones and ripples in the carpet patterns). The rooms have asymmetrical furniture and sleek fixtures that are both modern and comfy. The Hilton shares its indoor/outdoor pool with a nearby health club; in return, guests get access to the club's squash courts and aerobics classes.
