In the shape of a snare drum, this striking glass building is hard to miss. The home of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, the 2,812-seat theatre also hosts many other classical ensembles, along with occasional visits from the likes of Bonnie Raitt and Tony Bennett, to name but two. Opened in 1982, the hall was supposed to be acoustically perfect, but it didn't live up to expectations. However, the acoustics improved vastly following major renovations in 2002, when the austere concrete interior was replaced by warm wood.
