Chippy's review Rate it

The blaring Led Zeppelin soundtrack keeps the cooks happy - and the customer reaps the rewards, because Chippy's takeaway fish and chips is one of the city's finest. Working with top-grade vegetable oil, halibut, cod and haddock and a stout-spiked batter, the two-person team fries to order. Potatoes are hand-cut and double-fried, which means crispy and light on the grease. The garlic mayo is delicious, but the tartare is dull. Don't stray too far from the mainstream: deep-fried salmon is oily. Opposite Trinity Bellwoods Park, this is a great place for picnic fixings.
