Jamie Kennedy Wine Bar review Rate it

Chef Jamie Kennedy is a local legend. His superlative cooking is inspired by a passion for local, artisan-produced foods. Now there are three spots for fans of 'JK'. The convivial wine bar is vibrant, casual and affordable. Pick a seat at either of the two bars - one faces an open kitchen where you can watch the chefs at work - and choose from the tapas-style menu. Courses are expertly paired with wines - sommeliers tour the world in search of gems, but also offer Niagara and other Canadian vintages. Plates range from whimsical, delicious takes on Quebec poutine (the most popular is topped with succulent lamb) to house-cured charcuterie. A wall of preserves in mason jars flags the chef's commitment to seasonal offerings. Next door is the intimate, more upscale restaurant, where luxurious French dishes are updated. Kennedy's dazzling modern restaurant in the Gardiner Ceramic Museum offers great views and exquisite food.
