A sea-blue monstrosity in an industrial area on Toronto's northern fringes, the Pacific Mall is North America's largest shopping centre selling Asian goods. Indeed, it could take a day to explore this village of toys, togs and treats. On the ground floor, wares are housed in a streetscape of 150 fishbowl-style kiosks. Expect shelf upon shelf of candy-coloured mobile phones, sneakers, T-shirts, school supplies and Hello Kitty products. As a reward for making the trek, goods are offered at discount prices. A second level is devoted to Far Eastern edibles - pastries, dim sum, noodles - and counters of sticky candy, which shoppers consume with gusto.
