Nicholas Hoare review Rate it
A handsome pastiche of a traditional English bookshop, Nicholas Hoare offers the most intelligent selection in town. The books are stacked right up to the ceilings and accessed by dark oak ladders on brass rails. Classical music streams out from speakers, while an erudite bunch peruse poetry, coffee-table books and new home-grown literature. Skylights illuminate a space that otherwise resembles a well-worn manor study; plush seating is strategically located in front of a stone fireplace that crackles and scents the shop on cold winter days.
