Most designer handbags have a knock-off twin somewhere in the world. But few pirates could mimic Augustina's imports - gasp-worthy bags that are rarely spotted elsewhere, from some of the world's most underrated designers. Lauren Merkin is a perennial favourite, along with perfumes from Miller Harris. Sweaters are another forte: they come in whisper-soft cashmere, merino wool and cotton, and range from $200-$400. A good selection of top-end accessories also includes costume jewellery, belts and underwear. The shop only stocks a few of each item, and the location, hidden down a Yorkville laneway, adds to the sense of exclusivity.
