The Charlotte Room is a pool hall you could take your mother to. It's smart, clean and well lit - there's even a carpet (and it's not sticky). Sandblasted brick walls and sconce lighting give this downtown bar an uptown feel. No wonder it's popular with an after-work crowd, who come to relax on comfy chairs, sip draught beer (ten on tap) and nosh on nachos ($11), Caesar salads ($8) and pizza ($11). The immaculate tables cost $12 an hour.
