Spirits Bar & Grill review Rate it
Hosted by the irrepressible stand-up comedian Jo-Anna Downey, Spirits is the funniest spot in Boyztown, though it's not officially a gay pub. It is homo-friendly, though, which perhaps explains why it is the city's longest-running showcase for independent new material. Every Wednesday it offers a mix of beginners trying to find their feet and seasoned comics testing out new bits. The atmosphere is warm and wacky, and the emphasis is on experimentation. Admission is free, so don't even think about asking for your money back.
