Being a business hub, Bologna doesn’t go out of its way to attract tourists, but there’s plenty of reasonable and affordable accommodation in the centre of town. The Corona d’Oro (via Oberdan 12, 051 236 456, www.hco.it, €199-€351), built on a 13th-century site, is probably the best. Of the more moderately priced hotels, the Due Torri (via Degli Usberti 4, 051 269826, €60-€80) is central and clean, while the Regina (via dell’Indipendenza 51, 051 248 952, €80-€120) is quiet and stylish, near the opera house.
