For a taste of the West Coast, head for the buzzing island of Marstrand (by boat from Lilla Bommen or take bus No.312 from Nils Ericson Terminalen), where cobbled streets lined with beautiful old houses lead on to a 17th-century fortress. The island has lots of bars, restaurants and nautical shops.
