Seasonal Granada

As usual in Spain, Easter (Semana Santa) sees one of the biggest street parties in Granada, with processions continuing over several days. There are two holidays in early January: first the city celebrates being recaptured from the Moors (the Día de la Toma, 2 Jan), shortly afterwards it is the Noche de Reyes (6 Jan), when the three kings bring gifts to the infant Jesus. This is a lively time to visit. Granada also hosts an international jazz festival every autumn. See www.jazzgranada.net for information.
