Graz’s 50,000 students underwrite a lively nocturnal scene. Around central Franziskanerplatz and Prokopigasse bars such as M1 (Färberplatz 1, 811 233) are always packed, but the more discerning dives are over the river around Lendplatz. For cool club sounds try p.p.c. (Neubaugasse 6, 0699 1264 7131) or Postgarage (Dreihackengasse 42, 722 937). In summer the buzz is very much around Forum Stadtpark (Stadtpark 1, 827 734, www.forumstadtpark.at), the city’s leading arty hangout. Don’t miss late drinks at the smoky Weimaresque Theatercafé (Mandellstrasse 11, 825 365), open until 4am. The Graz edition of Vienna weekly Falter lists club nights and gigs.
