Restaurants & bars

In too many of Ibiza’s central restaurants food takes second place to fashion. There may be no DJ at the secluded S’Ametller (C/Pere Francès 12, 971 311 780), but there is excellent modern Ibicenco cuisine made with local products. For romance in a lushly planted courtyard, nothing beats La Brasa (C/Pere Sala 3, 971 301 202) which specialises in regional and seafood dishes with an exotic cactus fruit dessert. Fish features heavily at the highly regarded Sa Caldera (Obispe Padre Huix 19, 971 306 416) while La Scala (C/Sa Carossa 7, 971 300 383) does a mean bullit de peix (seafood stew). Those on a budget can carbo-load at the ever popular El Pomelo (C/de la Verge 53, 971 31 31 22) and Can Costa (C/Creu 19, 971 310 865).
