The city has many sleek five-star hotels but two stand out from the crowd: the twin high-rise Oberoi and the adjoining Hilton Towers (Nariman Point, +912222024343, +912222025757, www.oberoihotels.com) with modern décor, fabulous views and possibly the most glamorous suite in the world; and the Taj Mahal (Apollo Bunder, +912256653366, www.tajhotels.com), the city's most famous historic hotel, right beside the Gateway of India. More moderately priced are the several attractive, small, old colonial hotels including Shelley's (30 P J Ramchandani Marg, Apollo Bunder, +912222840229, www.shelleyshotel.com), Bentleys Hotel (17 Oliver Street, off Garden Road, Colaba, +912222841474, www.bentleyshotel.com) and Hotel Cowies (15 Walton Road, near Electric House, Colaba, +912222840232, +912222840480). The YWCA (18 Madam Cama Road, Colaba; +912222025053, www.ywcabombay.com) has clean and affordable dormitories, doubles and family rooms, including breakfast and dinner.
