Nightlife

Some of Oslo’s best bars congregate around Solli Plass, such as fashionable Frognerveien 6 (Frognerveien 6, 22 43 70 60, www.f6.no), sophisticated Champagneria (Frognerveien 2, 21 94 88 02, www.champagneria.com), or intimate La Belle Sole (Observatorieg 2B, mobile 997 98 965, www.labellesole.no). Note that Norway does not allow smoking in restaurants, clubs and bars. Behind the Central Station, multicultural Grønland buzzes with restaurants, bars and clubs – try Dattera til Hagen (22 17 18 61, www.dattera.no) or Kafe Asylet (22 17 09 39, www.asylet.no), both on Grønland Street. The Grünerløkka area has fantastic bars, particularly along Thorvald Meyersgata – check out Kaos (22 04 69 90, www.cafekaos.no), Coma (22 35 32 22, www.comabar.no) and the Parkteatret (Olav Ryes Plass 11, 22 35 63 00, www.parkteatret.no).
