Žižkov Tower

The huge, thrusting, three-pillared television tower in Žižkov has long been dubbed the Pražský pták, or Prague Prick, by local fans. Completed early in 1989 as a foreign signal jamming transmitter, it now broadcasts reality TV shows to eager Czechs. A lift hurtles to the eighth-floor viewing platform or you could have a drink in the fifth-floor café of this 216m (709ft) monstrosity. The intriguing, rather disturbing babies on the side are the work of Czech bad-boy artist and satirist David Černý.
