One of the best pubs in Prague. The murals make it look like it’s been here forever, but in fact the Black Ox was built after World War II. Its superb location, right above the castle, made it a prime target for redevelopment in the post-1989 building frenzy, but the rugged regulars bought it to ensure that local bearded artisans would have at least one place where they could afford to drink. The Kozel beer is perfection and, although the snacks are pretty basic, they do their job of lining the stomach for long sessions.
