Right out of Jan Neruda’s Prague Tales, this 19th-century hall is split into two: a small beerhall frequented by hardcore pivo drinkers, both of the student and middle-aged variety, and a downstairs music hall that these days increasingly features live gigs by local rock hopefuls. Obvious tourists may catch the occasional scowl, but in general this is a friendly place.
