The International Baltic Ballet Festival (www.ballet-festival.lv) takes place in March and features the best talent from the three Baltic States. June sees the Craft Fair in the cathedral square and the Riga Opera Festival (www.opera.lv). Latvians also enthusiastically celebrate Midsummer on 23 and 24 June. The Riga Sacred Music Festival in August and September features numerous concerts in the city, while December sees the squares of the old town filled with Christmas markets.
